Administrator at prestigious college-prep Jewish Day School. Part of High School and Upper School Leadership Teams. Developed a comprehensive college counseling program, including group, individual and family components. Established new relationships between this young high school and a wide array of colleges. Worked collaboratively with faculty, providing training in recommendation writing and information about the college admission process. Coordinated and ran a yearly major College Fair for the tri-state area. Consistently produced stellar college admission results.

Counseling professional and administrator in a high-profile, premier college-preparatory high school of approximately 1500 students, first as a Dean of Students for 19 years and then as Director of Counseling. Met the needs of a demanding and culturally diverse community,
well-invested in higher education. Recruited, evaluated and supervised a staff of 9 counselors and 5 administrative assistants. Member of the Principal’s Cabinet, the administrative body of the high school; non-standard testing coordinator; Advanced Placement Exam Coordinator; member of 504 Committee. Helped spearhead initiative to replace AP courses with teacher-designed curricula, including all communications with colleges, presentations at national conferences and school board meetings, leadership on Task Force committees. Co-founded the Beyond Fear and Hatred programs and helped develop the Senior Options (WISE) program. Co-coordinated the first Gap Year Fair in Westchester County.

Developed and taught “Ethics in Counseling,” a course not previously offered in New York graduate programs. Also taught “Interviewing in Counseling” and supervised counseling interns.

Developed a counseling program for the only Japanese High School outside of Japan accredited by the Japanese Ministry of Education and affiliated with the prestigious Keio University. Counseling was a concept previously unknown in Japanese schools. Trained and supervised a staff of two counselors.
